Most of us dream of having an amazing loving relationship and the wonderful sex that comes with it. The famous 80-year Harvard Grant Study has shown that the #1 predictor of happiness is not wealth, status, or material things; happiness is determined by the depth and intimacy of our romantic partnership. And, further research shows that the emotional and physiological benefits to happy relationships are manifold and life-changing.
With this said, the truth is, most of us struggle to build and maintain deep intimate connection and the magical sex that comes along with vulnerability, passion, and depth. If we are meant to be in romantic relationships, then why is it so hard?
We expect that there will be many questions you may want to ask but may not feel comfortable doing this publicly in this large group setting. To help you feel safe to ask vulnerable questions and to create an interactive experience for everyone, you can privately and anonymously ask Jim and Emily questions in advance through this survey. You can also ask questions during the Zoom call by sending a private chat message to Jim and Emily during the session using the Zoom chat feature. In either case, your identity will be kept private while Jim and Emily read and answer your questions in the workshop so everyone can benefit.
Time and interest permitting, in the last 20 minutes of the workshop, to show how the evidence-based Internal Family Systems healing method can help you get to the root causes of your relationship challenges, Jim and Emily will offer live coaching to a volunteer.
Emily is the Founder of Soar to Greatness Now LLC, a spiritual teacher and healer, Self-leadership expert, and the author of two books: “How to Permanently Erase Negative Self-Talk: So You Can Be Extraordinary” [2015] and “CLIMAX: Why Great Leaders Need Love Affairs (an enlightening leadership fable” [2020]. Emily is trained in the evidence-based Internal Family Systems (IFS) Self-leadership and healing model and uses IFS (as well as other modalities) to guide couples and singles to heal from the past so they can achieve greater intimacy and spiritual depth in their relationships. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur in 2012 and finding her life’s calling as a relationship coach and healer, Emily was a pharmaceutical rep for Pfizer for 27 years. Emily has a B.S. in Nutrition from Cornell University.
Jim retired from a 37-year career as a high-tech executive, visionary and entrepreneur, having founded companies and helped lead teams at established technology companies to achieve extraordinary results. As an electrical engineer with a Harvard MBA who was imagining a very different kind of retirement, Jim was surprised and delighted to discover his calling to a second career coaching couples to achieve their dream relationships. Like Emily, Jim is experienced in coaching couples using the Internal Family Systems model; his coaching is informed by having had years of healing IFS therapy himself.
Jim and Emily met the old-fashioned way – through an online dating app. Their relationship accelerated quickly because they shared the language of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) healing and self-leadership model. The IFS framework allowed Jim and Emily to safely have difficult and vulnerable conversations early in their relationship, thereby helping them build deep intimacy very quickly. Then, as Jim brainstormed with Emily about how to talk about getting relationships right, he realized that he could add tremendous value to her business. So, Jim and Emily joined forces to create IntimacyAndGreatSex.com, with a mission to help couples and singles over 40 achieve the one thing that really matters: intimate connection and the great sex that comes with that.
All are welcome!
Best in happiness and love,
