Our next presentation is: Soul Expansion (Realize Your Radiance through Kundalini) by Jennifer Greenwald.
Kundalini is your life force energy. It is the essence of what makes you YOU. Kundalini is an effective tool to help you expand your consciousness and awareness for a deeper connection with Spirit. It helps you to move beyond self-imposed limitations and live in your highest potential. It is pure energy that ignites healing on the physical and emotional levels. Essentially, Kundalini is a dynamic system of breath-work, movement, meditation, and mantra that delivers you to a greater awareness of Self and the Infinite.
As Yogi Bhajan, the great master of kundalini yoga, said, “Kundalini is the science to unite the finite with Infinity, and it’s the art to experience Infinity in the finite.”
Included in this presentation:
* a brief history of kundalini yoga and it’s benefits
* light kundalini movement and breathing techniques to experience kundalini energy flowing through you
* understanding the power of mantra
* learn an ancient mantra and meditate in Oneness
* understanding music and sound as a healing modality
** Pete Onofrio will be accompanying the presentation with thoughtful explanations on sound healing as well as offering live music during the mantra meditation.
In a world where we can easily be pulled off center by external influences, Jennifer encourages individuals to re-center and reconnect to their inner voice. She believes our main purpose is to transform darkness into light in order to live rich and radiant lives.
Jennifer received a BA in Education from Florida Atlantic University. Education remains a central focus for Jennifer as she follows her passion for spiritual and holistic living. She received her health coach training from the renowned Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She is also a certified Reiki 1 practitioner and has trained along side Gabriel Bernstein when completing her level 2 Spirit Junkie training.
Jennifer’s central focus and intense training has been in the kundalini yoga lineage. She continually trains with master teachers Ravi Singh and Ana Brett in the revolutionary style of kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. She has over 500 hours of teacher training and considers herself an eternal student and teacher of Kundalini yoga, which is the basis of her spiritual teaching. She delivers her classes, workshops and coaching sessions with a little humor and a whole lotta soul.

Presents: “Choose Happiness,” with Lisa Brown. Lisa is a positive psychology life coach, passionate about helping individuals and couples lead happier lives by unearthing and tapping into their strengths, values and desires. Years ago, while in a challenging marriage, Lisa found herself searching to learn how to be happier. Rather than focusing on what wasn’t working in her life through traditional therapy, she knew she wanted to give herself permission to dream about who she could be at her best. Lisa studied positive psychology with Tal Ben Shahar, through Wholebeing Institute. She experienced firsthand the lessons and life-changing tools the science of happiness provides. She found the courage and strength to create a life where she is free to shine. From the personal success of her own journey, Lisa is dedicated to helping others discover the joy and fulfillment that comes from living a life of gratitude, self-validation and self-worth. In Lisa’s own words; “Positive psychology taught me that almost half of my happiness is within my immediate control. I choose to work that half like an athlete, because feeling good, feels great.” Lisa coaches one on one, conducts empowering workshops, teaches the proven tools and lessons positive psychology offers, and mentors new coaches striving for success. Recently, Lisa has expanded her reach through webinars and public speaking. Lisa is certified in positive psychology, a certified professional positive psychology life coach, ELI MP (Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner), and specializes in relationships; always starting with the one we have with ourselves.
The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it. ~Eckhart Tolle
Through humorous anecdotes, that include, of all things, a garage door and dirty dishes, Lisa Brown will have you feeling better from the inside out. We all have something that gnaws at us, frustrates us, or we feel badly about. Now, let’s shift those negative feelings to positive feelings. Lisa will help you learn to lift that weight from you’re your shoulders, to make your daily life more pleasant. We can increase and create happiness through our thoughts. Lisa’s approach is realistic; she will help you develop the skills to be aware of the thought that create negative feelings, and to convert them to positive ones. She will tell you, “If you don’t like how you feel about something change your thought!”
We may not be able to make every situation rosy but we can certainly find a way to feel better. When all else fails, use Lisa’s secret weapon: LAUGH! www.LisaBrownLifeCoach.com

Get ready to get happier simply by talking about happiness! We’ll be in the cafe. Look for our red Meetup sign. Please feel free to arrive late or leave early. It’s great if you can RSVP in advance, but in case you can’t, come anyway. As a reminder, this group has two goals. The first is to explore the relationship between happiness and goodness. The second, much more fun, goal is for us to become much happier just by getting together and talking about happiness. The theory behind this second goal comes from a classic psychology study showing that by simply talking regularly about happiness we can become much happier.
While we’ll depart from them whenever and however much we may wish, like by talking about gratitude, acts of kindness, meditation and other happiness techniques, the following list of 14 topics will serve as a backdrop for our discussions.
Here’s some background on the research our group is based on. In 1980 three New Zealand researchers found that after eight 2-hour conversation sessions about happiness over four weeks, their subjects reported a 22 percent increase in their happiness. Continuing their twice-weekly sessions, by the sixteenth week they reported being 42 percent happier. This group has too many meetings each month to list. People Who Need People – Exploring Relationships
http://www.meetup.com/People-Who-Need-People-Exploring-Relationships/ ;;;;;;
Hi Everyone, I’m writing to let you know I’ve just started a new group called People Who Need People – Exploring Relationships. It will meet each 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Barnes and Nobel in White Plains, New York. Here are some of the details:
First, our events are always free, it’s okay to arrive late or leave early, and rsvping isn’t absolutely necessary to attend our meetings.
A very dear friend once told me that life is about relationships. This twice-a-month Meetup is mostly about those who mean the most to us – our family, our romantic partner, and our friends. It is also about our co-workers and acquaintances, and about those special people we have yet to meet. Since about 90 percent of us here in the U.S. believe in God, or a higher power, it is also about our relationship with this power. Last, but certainly not least, it’s also about our relationship with ourselves.
Our group is really about our becoming happier. Why? Because decade after decade, as researchers have ask tens of thousands of us what our main source of happiness is, our number one answer has always been “other people.”
So, we’ll talk about how to best enjoy our relationships, how to improve those that need improving, how to get new ones started, and how to make our lives richer and happier by getting better and better at giving the people in our lives the consideration and attention that they, and we, deserve.

SPIRE well-being considers the whole person—it encompasses spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, and emotional well-being. By taking the whole into account, the greatest well-being can be realized. We call that wholebeing; and we use the term as our definition of happiness.
The word “spire” is within the word “respire,” meaning to breathe—the act that keeps you alive. The SPIRE perspective encourages you to know yourself—to understand and value that which is uniquely and wonderfully you. When you become grounded in who you are, it becomes a source of energy. While respiring (breathing) keeps you alive, SPIRE wholebeing seeks to keep you enlivened.
In this way, SPIRE Wholebeing helps you gain perspective as you continually grow into the highest and best you’re capable of, while deepening your connection to self.

Psychic Medium Angelina Diana (her born name) had been a popular radio host & newscaster for many years, until the world of connecting to energy came into her life. At first, she studied it privately to make her life better. Then the urge to interview psychics and mediums grew stronger. She then realized that there were those practitioners “in the work to heal and those in it to steal (your money)!” After Angelina received many personal validations from the energy world, she decided to read other people to see if there was evidence. Angelina was surprised to receive more requests to do readings because it “helped’ them. She decided to leave the world of broadcasting, to broadcast other information….from the other side.
As a Psychic Medium, Angelina Diana participated in the prestigious Mediumship Afterlife Tests, The Veritas Research program under the direction of noted author & scientist, Dr. Gary Schwartz, of the University of Arizona, Tucson. It was during extensive scientific testing by that Ms. Diana’s otherworldly accuracy was scientifically verified to the extent that she received honorable mention in Dr. Schwartz’s book, “The Truth about Medium.”
Angelina also has the distinction of being the first medium to be certified by Forever Family Foundation when they began their program in 2005. After she passed the test the first time She went through the certification program various time to help them refine the program to open it up to other mediums.
Angelina has also been a host – “Signs of Life” since it’s inception from 2006 -2013. She lent a hand in the programming, production, formatting and creation of their interview show that has noted scientists in the field of survival of death as well as noted authors and other mediums.
Angelina has had the opportunity to use her past media experience and bring her on air readings, messages of hope and spiritual teachings to television and radio. She is the resident psychic medium on Courtney and Kiss in the morning on 95.7 FM since 2005 She has the honor of being on Better Connecticut WFSB Channel 3 (CBS), FOX 61, WTNH 8 (ABC) and Channel 30 (NBC) in Connecticut. She has also made other TV appearances in Massachusetts WGGB Channel 40 (ABC) and WWLP Mass Appeal Channel 22 ( NBC) and Arizona. She also produced and host her Cable Access show on Cox Cable PA15 shown throughout the Connecticut area.

She loved working with her patients and helping them get better, but something was missing in her life. She decided to stop PT and she became a potter apprentice at the Guilford Arts Center. Barbara fell in love with the act of creating and making beautiful functional pieces of pottery, but 4 years into her ceramics life, she contracting Lyme Disease that was undiagnosed and untreated.
Barbara left ceramics because she could no longer throw on the wheel and do functional pottery, and making lemonade out of lemons she ventured into glass fusion and 15 years ago opened Chroma gallery (www.bskdesign.net), in Guilford, CT which is her working studio and exhibit space all in one. Barbara’s healing journey from Chronic Lyme disease introduced her to the world of complimentary and alternative medicine, which is where she discovered the healing qualities of Forgiveness. Barbara believes that forgiveness is the gift we give ourselves to lead us out of the prison of anger, grudges and fear.
Barbara sees clients two days a week helping them heal with looking at life through the lens of forgiveness.( www.forgiveness-works.com) Barbara is looking forward to teaching us the wisdom of forgiveness she has learned along the way.
Please welcome Barbara Shulman-Kirwin to our November Happiness Club! Her topic speaks volumes to everyone. Forgiveness takes on new meaning as we evolve in our lives with the struggles of letting go, anger, pain and in some cases hatred.
For me, I had to find a way to” let go” for survival. I will share my insights and what I had to do when we gather Thursday November 1st when we meet Barbara Shulman-Kirwin to present her story and understand how we can learn from her wisdom and healing benefits through forgiveness.
All are welcome!

You’ve felt the itch to make a transition in your career, relationships or health. But where do you start? And how do you navigate the uncharted territory of your calling without slipping back into old patterns or turning the good things in your life upside down? In our evening workshop we’ll blend soul with science, integrating tools and practices based on research from the fields of positive positive psychology and life coaching, and we’ll rediscover the wisdom you already carry within you to help you find your path to clarity, calm and meaning…and just a little bit more happy!
Maria Sirois is a master teacher, facilitator and author. She is devoted to the science of well-being and the art of crafting a life and a work that embodies health, passion and success. As a positive psychologist (Psy.D.) and consultant, she focuses on the resilience of the human spirit particularly when under chronic stress, during significant transitions or changes, and/or feeling the shock of wholesale change. Known for her wisdom, authenticity and rampant humor, Maria brings a depth of experience in leadership development and stress management for corporate and non‐profit professionals alike. Her work in the medical, legal, human service, financial, technology and educational sectors focuses on building capacity and engagement around chronic stressors such as conflicting goals, difficult conversations, unrealistic expectations and moments of failure — using such moments to leverage sustained positive shifts in perspective and ability. Her home is in the Berkshire Mountains where she attempts on a daily basis to love her children well enough so that they too find a way to embrace the world with a grounded optimism and a sense of their own strengths. And on most days, she remembers to feed the cat.
